Don't throw that coil away. Take the screw out and pop it apart. The coil part is replaceable. I think the aftermarket Stens part number is 460063 but I may be mistaken. I had to replace one a few years ago for my neighbors dads old 65 suburban 10.

If you can't find the correct coil you can always wire up a regular old 12V coil and condenser to the points like the K series Kohler engines.

yup less of a problem getting that going than if you had the newer engines with the solid state.

I agree 100 %.  Have had more problems with electronic ignition that points by far.

Coil part number is Tecumseh 32014 but was discontinued in 2006.

Theres a NOS one on ebay right now, I have not looked much into interchanging them with another brand so that may be possible as well , you just dont see too many of the early systems like this anymore.

I would snatch the NOS 1 on Ebay up if I was you.$63.90 shipped is a good price for a NOS NLA coil.

Not 100% sure the Stens 29632 303546 30560 30560A or 610768 aftermarket one will fit the metal part. I think the square hole may need to be be a bit bigger.

Wonder if an old Clinton coil would fit? There are literally 100s of NOS Clinton coils on ebay for $15-$40.The hole is pretty big on some of them.
