I will get it sent over. I know they are plastic but should not fail that soon. Have you looked at the flywheel and made sure the gear is in good shape?

Make sure the bushings in the starter are not worn out. It's one of the most common reasons for stripped starter gears.

The old thing isn't wired yet so I start it with jumper cables, I messed up and accidentally bounced the cable on the positive post. When it did that the starter engaged, disengaged and then engaged again knocking off all the teeth on the gear. I wasn't happy because first off, it was a new starter and second off I just finished mowing my lot in town, I was starting it to load on a trailer and I ended up pushing it up the ramps to get it loaded.

 

The simplicity is going to be wired before it starts again with the new gear.
