Pretty soon the gas engines will be just like the diesels. The new Ford Eco-Boost truck engine is a direct injected twin turbo engine. And so far been praised as a good one. Direct injection looks like it will save the 2 stroke engine as well. Just waiting to see if that's the next big thing that everyone will be using in 5-10 years. Don't know.

This is how I explain it:
"Horsepower" is how fast you hit the wall
"Torque" is how much of the wall you take with you

Just from my experience DON'T plan on smooth sailing with the Honda conversion kit from Small Engine Warehouse if ya go that route.........their "just bolt in conversion" is far from that!! Plan on lots of modifications!! I never thought of the diesel idea either but wish I'd gone that route now also but still happy with my choice!! I converted a Ingersoll RM60 60" cut mower deck and the Honda just plays with it!! My Honda 24hp beats the pants out of old Onan 16hp and uses a ton less fuel then that Onan too!! Good luck on whatever your decision and if you decide on the Honda from Small Engine Warehouse let me know if need any help since its still fresh in my mind!! LOL!! Luke

Funny you should say that? My Brother put a 23 HP Briggs in his JD420 using their kit last summer. And said if he had not had 33 yrs experience as a production machinist it would have been impossible.
