A guy has this for sale here locally.  Says it's a Jacobsen with a 14 hp engine... I don't recognize it... does anyone else??

I think that is a Homelite era tractor! Homelite bought out Jacobsen in the mid 80's!

Looks like it has the tube frame like a 72-76 Jake (Ford).....hood is different though.

Jacobsen made......

Ford, Jacobsen, Moline, Oliver, Town & Country, White

all on the same platform, just different trims

Definitely resembles an open sided Ford to me... look at the raised dash and then look at one on a Ford.

1972 - 1976 Jacobson GT12H or GT14H or GT16H.

Found a bunch of Pics of a GT12H and GT16H but nothing for the GT14H.

That's MTD for ya.They bought up everything and shut them down or turned them into there "Cheap Junk" line like they did to Bolens. Or pervert the brand so much that it's completely unrecognizable as to what it used to be,like they did with Cub Cadet.

So, will it have the welded in bottom to the engine like the early Ford's?

Yeah, that's true... fortunately we can still enjoy the older machines that were built to last, not merely increase sales revenues...

Are you planning on getting this? I'd be curious to know if you can find any ID plate on it anywhere
