I've gone to doing my own, after having 5w-30 put in my truck despite being clear that I wanted 10w-30 I run synthetic oil with a purolator filter, and a quart of Lucas synthetic, truck is a 1999 dodge ram2500, 5.9l(360) with 186,xxx on the clock.

have run Dodge 318s and 360s since I have had a license. Been running 10W40 in every single one of em since "day 1"....

have run Dodge 318s and 360s since I have had a license. Been running 10W40 in every single one of em since "day 1"....

Part of the reason I run 10w30 is because it's easier to get most places around here, most gas stations here have 10w30 synthetic but not 10w40, can't always get into the parts stores around here with a trailer and many are closed Sunday's as well.

I liked Wix filters for a long time but had two different filters look like this when I removed them. The pictured one came off my daughter's '95 Camry and one came off my wife's '10 Dodge Journey that looked the same. I have been using Purolator or Delco since.
