I picked up a pair of bolens and attachments the other day and I don't know anything about them. Any help would be appreciated. One is the husky 853 and the other is an H16. The attachment's are 2 mower decks, 2 blades, and a tiller.

Welcome to GTT!

We would love to see some pictures of your machines!

What would you like to know about your tractors?

I wrote an atricle on the tubeframe line if you would like to look at that

If I can't do it slow then it's not going to get done.

Welcome to the site. You should check out the manuals section. Should be a manual or two in there that could help you out. Just got my first Bolens the other day. They sure are nice built machines.

Welcome to GTT. Two good machines. Do they run? There are owners, parts, and shop manuals for them in our Manuals Section(3 free downloads per day). Post pics when you can. Ask questions. We are all in this together. Good Luck, Rick

Thanks for the warm welcome. I have been able to start the husky it just has a small leak by the carb. The H16 however needs rewired. But the motor turns free so I'm hopeful I can get it to run. My main question is about the rewiring. But I'm also wondering if the implements are compatible with my machine. I'll get pics up when I get off work.

Looks like they are mostly there minus a few cosmetic things

The front tires on the 853 are not the right rim size, It looks like they took them off the 853 and put them on the H16

Almost all tubeframe attachments are interchangeable minus a handful of things

I've spent some time working on these now and have to ask where should the PTO be located? I can't find anything that looks remotely close.

Got the husky motor running PTO was taken off but got it put back on and turning nicely. But for some reason it doesn't want to take off any suggestions on it?

PTO is controlled by a tensioner system that engages your PTO belts

The husky is running properly and I tilled a section of my garden up... Now the H16 I have found has no PTO at all it's been removed. And the ignition switch is locked up. Any chance of replacement parts?

The cast iron PTO's are interchangeable on the tubeframes just make sure you get one for dual belts.

Ignition switches I stock new for the H16
