I think I want to build one. Plan is propane tank cut out a door add kaowool and a firebrick in the bottom but the part I got to figure out is the propane torch.

Plenty of info out there on making your own . Maybe even some members here have done it or have some advise . Hope to see this as you build it !

Aaron (out back) built two different ones. One is for melting metals, other for blacksmith work. His seem to work good. Not sure where he got his info to build them. But they are propane. He can melt copper.

I used coal in mine. Put some brick in the bottom of an old barbecue, blower under blowing air up through the middle. Used the cheep style barbecue that is nothing but a round pan about 3" deep with three legs and a grate. only problem I had was living in Washington state and using local coal. Low quality high sulfur choking smoke. I believe coke is available on the web. Don
