We joined this club just this year and it will be our first event with them.  Sounds like it's a pretty big deal.

They're looking for exhibitors of all sorts of agricultural equipment and engines.  Apparently there is a Sears Suburban group that makes a large showing every year.

I'm not under the impression there is a pulling class for garden tractors.

No charge to exhibit and exhibitors don't pay the gate fee either.

Not a lot of GTs, but some.  A good selection of engines, many of them running.  Unfortunately a good number of the tractors never hit the show area, pullers unloaded them on the track infield and left them there when not pulling.

Some pictures of the garden tractors, mowers and engines.  I included the Cub because I can never quite figure out if they're a farm or garden tractor and this one was particularly nice.

As far as I am concerned, the pullers need their own area! I got tired of listening to them rev the engines at our show. And they had to have the front row! They SUCK!

Thanks for the pics!

That Farmall Cub is the nicest one that I've ever seen!  It looked nice with the power unit on the trailer!

Our pullers are fairly quiet.  Club rules require them to be 1958 or older and pretty much stock.  The only visible modification I saw other than some radical hitches and weight brackets was K&N air filters instead of the oil bath.

This morning there was a guy pulled up with an 8N that looked showroom new on his trailer.  It never made it near the show.

:iagree:  :yeah_that:       That style grill and emblems makes it mid-fifties.   Sure is pretty.    Rick

Thanks for the pictures Carl. I made the trip on Friday (185 miles one way and a border crossing) and was very disappointed in the turnout. There seems to be more stuff there in your pictures. Not to be too critical but they should not advertise a three day show when there is very little there when the gates open Friday at noon. Also every tractor there had weight brackets on it. I really think this is more of a pulling club than an antique tractor and machinery club. Thanks again for your pics as they are appreciated....Dave

I wish you'd looked me up.  I was there all day.

I agree 100% with your criticism.  What was there Friday was club member tractors, and there were few visitors.  The guys with the engines spent most of the day prepping the pulling track so the engines didn't even get run much.  Friday evening and Saturday morning is when the other stuff rolled in.  There wasn't anything for people interested in pulling either because that didn't start until 6PM.

Sunday was worse.  Almost everything left Saturday evening and first thing Sunday morning.  The last food vendor left at noon and our own information booth closed shortly after.  The few people that wandered in seemed pretty disappointed.  At least we didn't charge admission on Sunday.

I was debating, as the newest member, whether to say anything to the President about my thoughts.  If you don't mind I'll pass along your comments.

My apologies for my part in wasting your day.

Carl; I don't consider it a wasted day. I did get a nice 400 mile motorcycle ride out of it. However like I previously said, I was disappointed in the show itself for the reasons I stated. Please feel free to pass on my comments for what they are worth. Sorry that I didn't let you know I was coming as I would have been pleased to meet you. With so few GT's there at noon I didn't think to ask around to see if you were there....Dave

We probably saw each other.  I had my tractor hitched to the barrel train and came to the ticket booth early afternoon just as someone parked there with a motorcycle was putting on his jacket.

Good day for a ride.  I hope I get a chance to ride mine some day...
