If you walk into YouTube local TSC, they will have 80-90w Gear Lube. Don't buy the small bottles, they are expensive that way. I usually buy the 2 or 2.5 gal jugs.

Alan, Is TSC on YouTube now.:poke:

Looks like a Clinton to me, which is possible, only engines they used were Clinton, Kohler, and Briggs, but again, anyone may have changed it.

No worries, Clintons are great engines and I have an 3 inch thick binder of manuals for the Clinton engines also lol. The numbers for those were on a tag, and looks like that tag is now gone, I will review my manuals some and see what I come up with.

Also, looking back at my manual now the engine looks identical to the one on the SB in the picture, but it isn't telling me the model yet. Only says the engine is warranted by manufacturer and read their manual... dang. May have to flip thru my Clinton binder until I find it.

Somewhere in the mid to late 60s Techumseh bought Clinton out. I hate Techumseh, the quality went down.

It isn't, Briggs carbs bolt on with the one bolt higher than the other, Clintons have the bolts in line (level). I doubt it to be Techumseh because Springfield quit using Clintons when Tech bought the Clintons, but I will check the Teck buyout year to see for sure.

If it doesn't run or you don't want it, I will gladly take it off your hands. I also was just out in the shop and ran accross some parts I got with my first Springfield that I had forgotten about, bunch of braketry, and I confirmed my thoughts about them, snow thrower parts!! lol (no the blower but the engine mount and linkages that bolt to the tractor.)

I think you are mistaken, Casey.

Tecumseh bought the Lauson engine line, not Clinton.
