I've seen deer down here clear a 6' fence with lots of room to spare!

The fence works.  But needs improvement.

I've got 2' of poultry net and the electric wire at about 40".  This morning one of the plastic electric fence posts was broken, the poultry net was smashed down and one tomato cage was crushed flat.

No deer tracks in the garden but one deep print heading out where the poultry net was smashed down.

Best guess:  Deer stuck head between electric wire and poultry net and got hit near the shoulders.  Jumped and got caught in the wire.  Smashed tomato cage and poultry net on the turn and exit.

I guess I need to run another strand so there is no gap to get in to the shoulders before receiving negative reinforcement.

That one probably won't be back for seconds. Would have loved to see that, probably still running.

I bet it was quite a site.

Hopefully there was a large audience sharing the learning experience.
