Picked up a 78 H16XL to pull the tiller, ran well enough to load. Carbs soaking and kit ordered. Tested compression at 150lb, wasn't expecting it to be that high but checked it twice. Anyone know what range these tecumseh's oh160's normally run?

The trans. fluid is on the low side, manual says SAE 20wt. Auto store didn't have any, before I search all over thought I'd ask the experts if you have other recommendations that may be better and or more readily available. While I'm at it, the filter Bolens #1726450, can this be cross referenced with a commonly available line? Any suggestions are appreciated, hope to have it back in use soon.
Thanks

Great, looks like O'reilly's can get that. Off to a good start.

I use Tractor/Hydraulic fluid spec # JDM J20C in my Eatons and Sunstrands. Good EP quality and no foaming. Can be had at Tractor Supply.

150psi is great compression. I don't think you have anything to worry about with that.

Ok, I ordered the wrong carb. kit, guess I was so excited I got in a hurry. Hope to have everything available to put it back together this weekend. Thanks for all the good input.
