Called a guy about a leaf vacuum trailer he wanted $20.00 for. When I talked to him he said there was an older tractor that he would throw in for free. When I got there I couldn't believe my luck. The tractor was a Bolens 1455 with a Wisconsin 12 HP engine. The engine turns over and he said it would run. It was a project he never got around to. While loading the Bolens I noticed he had a Big Ten Allis Chalmers sitting behind some other junk. I told him jokingly that I would haul it off for him and to my surprise he said ok. The rear end is busted but the engine is not locked up. I got the Bolens home last night and went back today to get the

Allis and the vacuum trailer. While loading he threw an old 3 hp briggs that runs and a blown briggs 19.5 hp with good starter and carb on the truck too. When I was about to leave he flagged me down and asked me if I was interested in an old Cub Cadet. I said sure. I followed him around another big heap of junk and he had an old Cub garden tractor buried underneath. He said he would give me a call when he got it dug out and I could have it. It looks to be a late 60s or early 70s model. Has a whit hood with light blue markings. Could not see anything else due to it being on the bottom of this huge pile of junk. Here are some pics of the Bolens,

Allis Chalmers, and the vacuum trailer. Will get pics of the Cub when I get it home. Check out the leaf rake attachment for the front end. I have loaded a pic of it too.

THIEF THIEF! :rolling: :rolling:

Dang I thought my $65 truck load of push mowers was a good haul. I got 7 and a snow blower and all of them but 1 runs.

I need Cub parts if it's not worth saving.

I believe the Bolens will make a good work tractor. The po said it had a tree fall on it. The body is pretty beat up but everything else seems to be in decent shape. I love the big leaf rake for the front. The AC needs axle differential on the right side. What is left of it is in rough shape. The seat is in worse shape than anything. Hopefully I can restore it.

OK, need some S'plainin' here.  Was looking at that strange lift unit on front of Bolen's. Thought maybe he made forks or ??  Then, on truck is another strange device I didn't understand. NOW, betting that whatever rig mounted to the Bolen's front?  SO, just what is that?  Rake?  Gathers nuts?  just hay or something that must gather up quick and pile up against screen???   We need to know, heh!

OK, now see Rake in post that wasn't on before I made mine.  If ever runs, try that and take video. Seems like over-kill.

The PO said it was a leaf rake. To me it looks more like something you would put on the front of a tank to search for land mines. I want to get it running just to see the look on my neighbors faces.

It is heartening to see somebody will still give usable stuff to a stranger.  Never seems to happen where i live... sounds like you live in a good place!  Looks like you have some work cut out for ya there...
