Can a kohler k-341 engine block with loose valve seat be permanently repaired by having a machine shop build up block, then machine to suit new valve seat?Or should I be looking for another block?Any one that has had this trouble tell me what's the best way to move forward. thanks mh44d.

I would think its repairable. I know I would try too fix it. Finding a block in my area, is like trying to find a needle in a hay stack. Someone will be along with more knowledge than I, to help you soon.

yup/ those valve seats are replaceable. and a good engine machine shop has access to a catalog full of such things, they go by dimension not necessarily engine make/model, and can often modify a out of the catalog piece to fit perfectly, they may have to ream the block surface a bit to fix an oblong or beat up valve seat reciever hole.... for not much money.

Download and read the Kohler manual in our Manuals Section. I'm pretty sure there is an explanation in the manual. Good Luck, Rick
