Hello.

Anyone repowered a 800/900/1000 with the rounded hood with a honda gx390 or a similar clone and know if it fits under the hood? I have seen that many have repowered the 1050 with gx390 but then have to modify the exhaust and intake, is it the same on the 800?

Or should I go with the gx270 (9hp) maby it fits under the hood without modification?

Anyone done anything like this?

I have a good 8hp Wisconsin but would be mighty costly by the time you had your hands on it.

Think they had Briggs 9hp in the G9 a similar tractor. I'm going to try to make one that way that at one time had Tecumseh in it.  That's not a NEW motor for sure, but is what I have here to work with.

It's nice to see many members from outside the USA & Canada.  ...This just proves the power of the 'net.

Sorry, but I can not answer your original question.

You should let that TV show Finding Bigfoot you know where he is.

If found that there is a hole under the bowl, looks like its treads in there, guessing im missing something here, like a drain plug? Not familiar to this carburetors.

Also missing the fuelcap..

Kenny linked you the proper files above.

There is a drain plug on the bottom of some models, all models have a brass vent near where the air cleaner elbow mounts.

If you see a hole on the bottom with threads your missing your plug and thats your issue right there no gas will stay in the carb.

I can supply any parts needed

I would stick with the Wisconsin if you can get it running. I have a 1054 here that the previous owner swapped a Honda GX240 into. He originally had the Honda in a Bolens  600 and had to cut the hood to clear both the intake and exhaust (the 600 hood is similar in shape, height and width to the 800, 900 and 1000 if I am not mistaken, but not as long). Fortunately for me, he decided to swap the 600 hood onto the 1054, rather than cut the 1054 hood as well. I got the original hood, Wisconsin engine and the rest of the 600 in the deal, so I can maybe one day put the 1054 back to somewhere near what it should look like. More to the point The 600 originally had a Briggs and Stratton engine in it that did clear the hood. If you do have to repower, you should be able to find a Briggs that will clear the hood ( assuming they are easy to find over there).

BTW welcome to the site!

Jim
