Picked up a Speedex S18. Well I'm guessing it is based on the Kohler 8hp. Have attached a few pics. Wanted to say hello. Will probably have a few question as I get into it

Welcome to GTT. That is a real nice looking GT. Check our Manuals Section for the Owners and Engine manuals(free download). Please post pics with your questions to help clarify what you are asking. We are all in this together. Good Luck, Rick

Nice lookin operation you have there.  looks like someone put some love into that tractor.  i like the paint, personally i'd slap some decals on there and keep it that way...

I may do a little mowing with it once I figure it all out. I have an old Ferguson to30 and am more used to the modern riding mowers. I will probably get her into the best shape I can. Those decals are just what I'm looking for. Will order some today

Decent looking tractor.

Is the deck not attached? Sure looks like its very close or actually touching the rear tires.

I noticed it was close to the tires as well though it does look attached.  If i press the lever on the left the deck moves forward.  I would appreciate any help/advice.  I bought as an impulse buy and am not too familiar with how everything on it works.  The mower deck does need a belt.

I bought 2 Speedex's like that, didn't even know what I was buying but thought they were a good package deal.

Anyone know where I can check the serial number. The number stamped on the frame is cc285. So far that's the only numbers I can find

I believe the cc means it's a 1968.
