Here are specs I wanted to post earlier in the thread and forgot.

I'm curious to how this engine is gonna stack up to the Onan. This one is 25% less cubic inches than the original b43g (43 c.i.). Of course, I'm always critical of non Onan replacements. I love my Onans!!!

Nice work so far.

Thanks for the kind words.  I am curious too.  Since I bought the 318 without the engine I can't do a direct comparison to what it was before with the Onan.  Since I am not lugging a 48" or 50" deck and I have a small lot, I took the chance on this engine.  I think I mentioned before in the thread that the decreased fuel consumption is a plus in my book.  I am also curious how it will handle the model 49 blower I have for it.

P.S. Thanks Mods for the move!

The program year at the church this fall has been brutal.  Add in 5 weddings since June and a big celebration tomorrow for the 500th anniversary of the Reformation and I have been swamped.  My free time has been divided between family and small projects at the house since the 318 is 20 miles from here.  I really should be sleeping now but I am wired...  :(

Quick update...

Working on a source for a muffler - Found a Command 18 twin and Vanguard 16 twin both with low compression on CL.  Both have mufflers and could easily be adapted to my Vanguard 20.  I hope I can get a response from the seller.

The asking price for both complete engines is $30

If you have an extra flywheel, I may be interested. I am looking for a 2402558S or 2402501S flywheel or a cross to those #'s. If it uses the 237878S stator, it may work!

I have made arrangements to pick them up tomorrow after find the batter was dead on my Jeep.  :wallbanging: :wallbanging: :wallbanging:

GPS says 1 hour and 3 minutes door-to-door - I can beat that.  LOL

Kenny - 16 HP info as follows if you want to do some digging to see if the flywheel might work for you:

Model:  303447
Type: 0454-01

It has a totally different part #. Not sure if it will cross.

But the magnets might work! Need to see a pic of them!
