Does anybody know of a source for reasonably priced 16" tires for the walk behinds? Knobby or ag pattern? I'm not showing my tractor, but I'd like to have it functional, even some decent used treads?

Are you talking about a David Bradley walk behind? If so you will want 6.00-16. Ag tires in that size are about 160-200 bucks new last I checked. And aggressive knobbies almost 300 bucks. You could get a pair of old pickup truck tires in that size and use chains on the tires though, since you don't expect to show it off.
