tractor

I took these pictures Friday

Do you have the old style deck lift lever? This is needed to attach the Sleeve lift bar to.  If so check with drbish above.

They only did those for a few years. I searched for three before I found one for my GT6000
It was missing the topplink adjuster, but I made do.

If you find a bunch of them, let me know. I've two more tractors they will fit.

I don't think this has ever been used, i put the lift link together, but most of the hardware is there, but i did notice the attachment plate for the helper spring is missing.

$75 plus shipping and it is yours, but give me a chance to figure out the best way to ship it, with that hitch plate there is a little bit of weight there.

Ok I see now, this would work on RED, but I don't do any towing with him any more. I leave that to his older brothers now. I didn't even know they made a sleeve hitch for that model. Thanks for posting the pictures.

Ok I have a hitch like You are looking for. came off of a Craftsman GT18 250270 tractor. May be able to talk me into traiding for Your hitch. I'm not sure but I think all You might need is the lift linkage that runs to your lift lever. I will dig it out to night. and Maybe it is the same as what You have. SEARS was good at that.

post 1,

...has the adjusting link not the "all in one new style"...

maybe just get an adjuable link or a turnbuckle???...

post 5,

...my tractor model number is 917.273090. i dont want the new style with the handle off too the side, its too hard on my shoulder lol i want to be able to use the deck lift handle...

post 7,

...hey guys i did some digging and found that the 05 fitup chart calls for 24535 hitch...

the rest of that number is 486.24535,
BUT, was superceed by 486.24536,
which in turn has been superceeded by 486.24586, the current model, as of this date, still being sold, @ $139.98

Description
Item #  07124586000P
Model #  71-24586
and manual:

BUT,
is still NOT, (without a powerful-lot of re-engineering), going to work WITH your deck-lift lever,
it is an add-on with it's OWN mounting bracket.  :wallbanging:

The other #s posted, #917252312 & #757252312, were specced  by Sears to fit the GT/GTV tractors, about '81 - '85, maybe even to '90 or so, which were MANUAL shift tractors, AND, the transmissions/axels/transaxels on your unit are all different from them. I'm NOT saying they "CAN'T-BE-MADE-TO-WORK" - anything can be made to work with enough "RE-ENGINEERING-PATIENCE-INGENIOUSNESS" - so...

there WAS an electric actuator made for these 486.xxx units, which would work with your tractor because it has the bigger alternator already on it, (so no mods needed on that part),
can't recall the # right off, will have to look in my notes, gettin' to ol' - o'timers, or sumpin, setting in...  :D

the NICE thing if using this one, 486.24586, you can use whatever on the BACK, AND, something else on the FRONT at the same time, think back-blade AND front blade, or whatever...  :dancingbanana:
