Hi Alc, the control handle is seen thoughout Simplicity tractors and is a feature that comes stock,it would still work good without the handle, the control the handle gives would allow for a little closer rows.

Waterbury Plow-Trac, model F. The 48 Plow-Trac becomes the F in 49 (2,3), the dates in pic (4)(tractor in pic is wrong,it is 51 or later) gives me a run date for the X1 platform of at least 48-50,this also might(?) be the end of the X1 for Waterbury, i will also mention the model R appears to be based on the F, that Quick-Hitch is notable, and with it Simplicity will supply Waterbury with all things Wards.
