Finally got a little work done today, first since returning from Alaska last Tuesday night. First, the new mandrel and housing for the Craftsman came in at 2:45 this afternoon and I got it all installed and blades sharpened. (Wife hit a rock and broke the mandrel housing before we went.) Got in about 3 1/2 hours seat time that was really needed. Got all the weed eating around the trees and house done. About 3 more hours tomorrow and I'll be done mowing.
The battery in my daughter-in-law's 2010 Mustang GT has been grunting trying to start it so he wanted me to try and bring it back to life. Drained the electrolyte, heated 2 cups distilled water and mixed in 8 heaping tablespoons of Epson Salt. Poured in into the battery and refilled with the electrolyte. Shook it and put it on the trickle charger. Hope it works, will let you know tomorrow. (Would have used rain water but we haven't had two cups of rain in the last 9 1/2 months.)

Nice when you get a day like that. At the end of the day, you can look back and say "I got a lot done today"

That sounds good Brian. The trip to Alaska was great and spent a week in Oregon too. Beautiful country and had great weather too, cool in the AM and around 65 for a high. Came back to find I had lost a friend from cancer caused by agent orange. Had a friend watering my garden but it's burnt up, getting tomatoes and the spuds look ok but the corn and green beans are toast. I'll post Tuesday evening how the battery works.

Sorry to hear about loosing a friend. My corn got about 2 feet tall had ears on them that reminded me of that chineese corn you get in a salad, LOL, and it then died. Beans are still growing like crazy. I will plan on coming up that way soon.

Glad you had a productive day. I hope the battery revival works for you. Sorry to hear about loosing your friend.

It amazes me how much the weather varies across the country. If I could I would send you guys some rain.

Hi Rusty,
We were in Salem. My wife's cousin and his wife took us to the coast, mountains and the Columbia River Gorge. What a beautiful state you have! Yep, cousin said we brought the nice weather and finally his yard dried enough to mow.
