I just bought my first tractor and am trying to find some attachments (I need a box scraper first) to get my yard into shape. I understand the concept of sleeve and 3 point hitches but being completely new to this kind of thing, I don't understand what I need to get started. Does the standard hitch on the Ariens s-16 tractor take only Ariens attachments? How can I add a sleeve or 3 point? And is this a custom fabrication or can I buy something to convert it?
Sorry for the stupid questions but I can't find a lot of information on it.

Thank you for any help.

Arien had both sleeve and cat.0 3 point hitches as options. Does your tractor have a rear lift hitch ? Do you have a picture of the rear of the tractor ?

Welcome to GTtalk!
There is a place that still sells the Ariens 3pt. Let me find the name of it. And occasionally on eBay. Do you have the rear rock shaft to lift a rear hitch?

 Welcome to the forum! First of all, John, some pics of your tractor will help folks answer your questions. Look in my signature for help uploading the pics.

I like 3-point as it gives you another adjustment the sleeve hitch lacks!

Thank you for the replies. I don't know if his picture is detailed enough? The tractor has a hydraulic lift but I haven't taken the rototiller off yet to check out what the hitch looks like.
If it has a sleeve hitch or cat0 3 point, I can use any attachments? Or just ariens?IMG_8577.PNG

The tiller tells me you have the rear rock shaft and pto. When you unhook the tiller, you will see that it uses the same mounting pins as the 3pt. The 3pt has a different style lift arm than the tiller. If you want manuals, Ariens has download version on their website. I will try to find the numbers of the add-ons.

Thanks Shorty. That's what I was thinking. It looks like a different version of a 3ph. So I can buy a 3ph to fit onto this?

The Ariens 3pt is the simplest way. But I see pics sometimes where a different brand was retrofit.

I will look around to see if I can find an ariens hitch. If you happen to come across the place that sells then can you let me know? I am too busy right now to have to start fabricating something.
Anyone know anything about the simplicity 2012 tractors? Are they any good? Thanks again.

I found a 3pt on eBay. I haven't figured out the link thing yet. I searched for Ariens 3pt and a new one popped up.

I don't know why I didn't see your reply until now. When I looked in the parts catalog, it only had the sleeve hitch. Is the 3 point hitch the same one as the Ariens GT tractors? The part number of the one I saw is 73101100

That sounds about right. All the attachments for the 931 series have a model number starting out with 831. Add on kits like a 3pt hitch start with 731 in the model number.
