SunStar, Peerless axle. One side leaks.  Have parts diagrams for both axle and extension.

Axle model 2600-020

Axle extension model 2650-007

Looks like axle seal way in on trans-axle case then?  788049 1-1/8"

OR, is the bearing on axle extension sealed one side?  780127

Have not torn down, waiting to see where seal is, and wether available or options.

What you Bolen's guy's have on these?  With Peerless not with Tec anymore, are they Dead?   Parts unobtainium cept NOS?

I had a leaky Peerless that the PO overfilled and used synthetic oil. I've heard some of the older seals weren't compatible with synthetic oil and it makes the seals hard and prone to leaking. Not sure if it's true or not, but makes sense. If you haven't done the maintenance on it, try draining and filling with the proper amount of dinosaur oil and see if it fixes itself. It did on mine. Good luck.

The 788049 is an oil seal sells for $7.75  /  780127 is the bearing $ 42.00

Peerless is now owned by husquvarna and still manufactures most service parts for their older transmissions.

I can still supply both new Peerless and Tecumseh parts

Also have the Peerless service manual if needed.
