I've had good luck with several and bad luck with several. You will need to grind the seat after you stake it. Check with our sponsors for over sized seats. Good Luck, Rick

Aluminum head??   Sometimes the alum disintegrates at seat and then it falls out.  I would think this is project for machine shop myself. Take the valve and have it fit to it by them.

What you found sounds like good news. Yes, I have heard of overnight solutions. They sell the solid state to coil conversions. Your H16 must have a fried solid state ignition. I've been debating on ordering one of their kits for my G14 with no spark. Well- I don't want your SSI now, no offense👍. Good luck!

Those heads are notorious for dropping valve seats.Once they come out they usually won't stay in very long even if you stake them.

Ignition is a TCDI ignition module.$160 kit. Alot cheaper and reliable than the old 1 piece ignition module/coil setup.

As the others said thats an aftermarket ignition system to replace the obsolete unit.

Just pulled up a parts list and cant find replaceable seats to buy for these motors, may want to weight your options and cost of repairs on the old seat, I have new cylinder heads with the seats in them if worst comes to worst.

I staked the seat in hopes it will run long enough to check out the rest of the tractor.if hydro works what would be a bolt in engine other than that stinking tecumseh?(sorry tec fans but that over head design must have been designed by a Crack smoking drunk) I don't want to part it out until I make a honest attempt to fix it

I just sold tiller and snowblower for 400, paid 300 for tractor and atachments,so I got the tractor and deck for nothing, and the tractor now runs good, and I made 100!
