Had a really great day today.  Getting seat time on my newly complete WH that is decorated for Autism Awareness and the first mowing falling the day after national Autism Awareness day.  I mow a couple yards to make a little $$ and today was the first mowing of the 2017 season.  About halfway thru the back yard, I see about an 8ish year old boy dragging dad thru the neighbors yard heading my way.  He had seen my driving over to the yard thru the neighborhood and had to show dad the special tractor.  He has Asperger's just like I do and is also fascinated with tractors like I am.  Dad really liked the tractor and thanked me to helping raise awareness and making his son's day.   It really made my day as well!  Can't wait to see the response I will get when I make some shows with the tractor this year.      Mike

One day I want to find one of the 4.5hp or 6hp air cooled yanmar or yanmar clone diesels to put in the tractor.  I know both of those will fit with zero hood mods. Just hard to find now that the EPA banned any new ones.    Mike

Have you notice that your tractor has any unique personality traits?

I'm not sure what your plans are for the tractor after the diesel conversion but a 5hp diesel will not provide enough power to replace a 12hp gas engine. The minimum I would go is 8hp. if your going to mow with it. For a parade tractor 5hp. would be fine.

She is only a commado 8, so Kohler 8 hp gasser.  I have done a 6hp diesel clone and it had more than enough power to mow or do whatever I wanted the tractor to do.  Would love to find a genuine Yanmar 6hp air cooled, but those are high doller most times they do show up for sale.   And to all who have Aspie/Autie children, your very welcome and its my honor to raise awareness not only for the kids, but for the adults like me on the spectrum, for which there is little to no support. Espically when your on the "high functioning" side of the spectrum but still need some supports to live independantly.    Mike the Aspie

You should be fine with the 6hp. then, Don't know where I got it in my head that we were talking about a 12hp.  :(
