how can u tell what year it is by the serial #
and I NEED VINYLS for the hood

If you have the model number and look on the attached web address you should be able to determine the year of your GT. I can't help you with the vinyls.

If you have any pictures, that may help. For instance, the Orange and White was only for a couple of years around 1968. If you have any of the original decals left, take lots of pics with tape measures and without. Others may have the missing info to get you the info you need to have them made.

yes it is the yellow freight color orange and it is white

Do you have any decals left? If not, I can take a few pics of mine so you know what you're looking for.

Also, on the shifter plate is or used to be a number stamped in. It started with 917.25________.

The next number is probably a 3 (maybe a 5), so with any luck you can make out the last two digits.
