Managed to get my hand on a 1256, purchased off an auction site.  It came with mower deck, front blade, rotavator and rear wheel weights.  It was a bit of a long journey, 450 mile round trip, but well worth it as i'm not aware of another one in the UK yet.  Am i right in thinking that these have a high and low range like the HT23?

Congrats on the new GT. Does it run? Download the Operators Manual from our Manuals Section to answer your question. Good Luck, Rick

Sorry to inform you, but the 1256 does not have a hi/lo range. like the HT23.

However, it does have the controlled differential which the HT23 lacks.

Bolens giveth, Bolens taketh away  :D  :D :D

I think the lever in the last picture that you may think is High/Low is just to engage and disengage the hydro trans to roll the tractor. Or at least that is what mine does. LOL!

Congratulations on the new tractor Dave, it looks a lot better in your pictures than the ones in the advert.

I hope it doesn't take too much to get it up and running.

Thank you all for your comments after unloading the tractor tonight the lever does engage and disengage the hydro, much easier for pushing! Wouldn't mind a 1556 now will have to keep my eyes peeled

Nice find Dave. I was sorely tempted but the distance killed it for me. Look forward to seeing more photos of this one.
