The third annual Panzer Party was held on September 25-26,1999 at the Petersville Farmer's Club in Petersville, MD.with over 80 people in attendance and approximately 40 Panzer tractors displayed. Folks came from CT, MD, Mass, Mich, NY, OH, PA, and VA. Camping was allowed on the grounds with some members showing up on Friday to help with set-up for the event. Activities included a tractor pull provided by Dan and Tom Demers, tractor games, parades, plowing demos, loader demos by Bob Stolzfus and Mike Heller, a Panzer power saw demo by Don McKenzie and a Saturday night slide show conducted by yours truly. Club related items were for sale including hats, T-shirts, Sweat shirts and plaques. Gene Knicely conducted a prayer service on Sunday morning.Panzer Party 1999.jpg Panzer Party 1999-2.jpg Panzer Party 1999-3.jpg Panzer Party 1999-4.jpg Panzer Party 1999-66.jpg

This was the first Panzer Party to be held at this site (arranged by Harvey Eagle). The previous two were held at Harry Stello's Cycle Shop in College Park Marland in 1997 & 1998.

The information booth and picnic pavilion were popular gathering places . Notice the hats and T-shirts for sale - always a popular item. PTOC plaques were also available.

LET THE GAMES BEGIN !

Jim Haynes sets up the tractor games while Dan Demers and his father, Tom work on getting the Panzer Tractor Pull up and running. The Demers family brought the stone boat and some blocks all the way from Bethlehem, CT.

After we ran out of blocks, we decided to use Bill Janitor's tractor for ballast. Hey - whatever works!

Al these are amazing pictures. what are your thought on bringing the panzer party's back.

I wasn't planning on getting into this topic on this forum so will try to make it short and to the point.

The "Panzer Party" was organized by the Panzer Tractor Owner's Club as a "club" event, run and paid for by it's membership and not open to the general public (although the public was welcome to visit and observe the activities). This was accomplished through members with good organizational skills and the contacts needed to secure a site with sufficient facilities to support a weekend event. Since the PTOC ceased to be an active club shortly after 2004, there have been no "Panzer Parties", nor will there be any in the forseeable future. This is not to say that this type of event could not be done by another group or club under ANOTHER name (i.e. not PTOC or Panzer Party).

As for your Facebook comment (posted Feb 20) about your planning to restart the Panzer Tractor Owner's Club - be careful what you ask for! There are those who are less than enthusiastic about this idea. The PTOC stopped being an active club for numerous reasons, none of which I will get into here. Therefore, I would suggest you instead start a new Panzer club totally independent of PTOC and just let sleeping dogs lie.

The PTOC with it's Panzer Parties had it's time and ran it's course. Enjoy the photos and let it go at that.
