I can get n.o.s. lawn boy two stroke oil in a can for a decent price (recently picked up a lawn boy push mower), my question is, is this oil still ok for use?

Yea it should be ok.

That stuff smokes and smells pretty bad. I just used up the last can I had for chainsaw gas. You can smell the mineral oil in it when it burns.

It's designed to line the inside of the aluminum mufflers with a hard smooth coating to help keep carbon deposits from sticking and building up. It's made for the older lawnboys with the muffler under the deck. They don't have a spark arrester "screen" in them to plug up but you do have to clean the exhaust port out once and a while.Especially if you mix it a bit rich.

I removed the spark arrester in my saw because it was burnt out but I did run it in one of my weed whackers and it clogged up fast.
