I got approved for a B-Day present today. I can order the decals, and new valves X2 for both engines.

Another set back, I wish the manual had assembly steps. I will have to remove the deck lift assembly to install the lift assist spring. I can't get the spring hook end to go into the hole on the lift assembly. So I have to remove it so to angle it so the spring hook goes in.

All the linkages are installed including the @#$! Spring. Next up will be the Sleeve Hitch, mainly to get it off the floor and back on the Tractor. I have to be in at Work at 3:00 am tomorrow, but will be leaving early. Have to do some servers work while no one is using them.

Tonight's progress. This may slow down some as we are planning a trip to Gatlinburg Tenn on the 18th.
This may be a good point to order the valves for the engine and decal kit. It will be easier to install the engine before I start on the tins.

I can now move Hulk II around when needed, and I successfully applied the 914 steering and clutch idler upgrades. So Hulk II is now a 917.255914 just like BOH. Know anyone that can make a new serial / Model decal? Hulk II's is pretty trashed.

Decals are ordeded, ran into a snag.

Per the Brigs manual for the valves.

390420 (Exhaust)
261528 (Intake)
393606 (Seal and keeper kit)

Anyone know where I can get these? All my usual haunts are NLA.

Planning a "vacation" is a pain. Sister-in-Law made reservations at a hotel at Pigeon Forge for us. I mapped out the directions, and calculated Gas, food, and hotel costs. Then my Wife threw a monkey wrench into all the plans. " I am taking my little dog PERIOD!) Well, I had to find a "Pet friendly hotel" and fork over an additional cost for the pet. We are now staying across town from the Sister-in-law. Next is to use Google maps and find attractions that me and the Grandson will go to while my wife visits with her sisters.

Ps, I found the valves I need on Ebay, but those will need to wait till I get back. Looks like I need to buy them and the seals from several different sellers.

I was getting aggravated trying to order the valves for my two 422437 1209 01 Brigs engines. All the usual places listed the exhaust valve as NLA.

Searspartsdirect

Ereplacementparts.com

Partstree.com

Partselect.com

Jackssmallengines.com

Then I came across this site, https://www.partsandservice.com/

They listed the exhaust valves as

*No-Longer-Available* was: Exhaust Valve (v409) (replaces 390420) It looks like substitutes, but I’m not picky. So I took a gamble and ordered two sets.

Briggs

  691794   1.000     19.750   19.75   *No-Longer-Available* was: Exhaust Valve (v409)         (replaces 390420)

  691794   1.000     19.750   19.75   *No-Longer-Available* was: Exhaust Valve (v409)

            (replaces 390420)

  691800    Valve Tappet (replaces 261368)      2.000        6.050        12.10

  691804    Intake Valve (replaces 261528)       1.000      20.350        20.35

  691804    Intake Valve (replaces 261528)       1.000      20.350        20.35

  692324    Valve Seal (replaces 497212)          2.000        5.340        10.68

  692324    Valve Seal (replaces 497212)          2.000        5.340        10.68

The total bill includes all the prices, I hope these are the correct ones, or at least make them work.

While waiting on parts, I made an update video for the YouTube viewers. Looks like vehicle and property maintenance this weekend.

Not much with Hulk II lately, Life is taking priority right now with work and planning on a long trip next week. I am still having issues finding the exhaust valves, so plans on the engine re-fresh may be limited to a de-carbon and check how far off the valves actually are. At least the decals came in.

I will be working on the trip car this weekend, and I am supposed to go look at a Bolens free-be Saturday.

What T's me off is the EBay seller had 10 of the valves listed as available. His ad has been pulled,
and I got this email;

New message from: ira114 Top Rated Seller(11,537YellowShooting Star)

Hey, I went to order the item and found out that this item is no longer made.
I will be cancelling the order now.

Sorry, Ben

PayPal has already charged me for these, I assume I'll be credited?

I found another add http://www.ebay.com/...sd=291503614252

I'll stick with the above plan before I try and order any more. Who knows, I may not need them after all.
