I am searching for a pre 1980 cub cadet,or a John Deere model 70 my grandson went to a garden tractor pull and was hooked he is 7 I would like to try it also a couple of times because I am handicapped and can only do so much.something that needs work this way we can both learn. The little JD 60. 70, or 100 round fender are really nice looking tractors and easy to clean up and restore. The only downside is the cost of new decals.
If you find a 60 or 70. The tecumseh engines are a weak point and they stopped making parts long long ago. The 100 uses a briggs and is more easily dealt with.
If you do choose a 60 or 70. There are options out there for replacements but that almost always necessitates the removal of pto clutch. Which if your only using it for pulling is no issue.
