What kind of "tractor pulling" are you doing? I know from some FB groups, guys are hooking to tractors together and calling it "pulling".

When you talk about "tractor pulling" on this site, most guys are referring to taking a 12Hp or larger, hooking it to a sled and pulling it down a dirt track.


If you are wanting to do a tug a tractor, any crapsman, murray, MTD, etc will fit your bill.  Most guy do not like hydros for that as you cannot really change pulleys to up the speed much or possibly lock the rear( most hydros should be locked already though)


As far as pulling a sled, a good old cub cadet will fit the bill, some guys will do other brands like a Sears, Case, maybe a JD. A geared transaxle is what you need. You will need to check your local pulling club rules to see what they allow, our club would not let anything under 12 hp even hit the track.

Yes I am going to be hooking up to a sled and pulling down a dirt track.i live in nj and there is a pulling club one hr from me. Hanks for responding.

I will have a puller for sale this week. I know it is a Suburban with a Kholer. I don't know any more than that. I traded for it and haven't picked it up yet.

I am looking at a John Deere model 111 11 hp but hydro will this make a puller?

Here are a few that should work pretty great:
