I am recently the new owner of a 2000 Hydro Bolens 5020H garden tractor. I figured I would post a few photos, and would love any feedback or advice, as I am starting from scratch and have little to no knowledge on Bolens so far.

So far it is running great! I have needed to rework some of the wiring and grounds, and replace two of the hydraulic hoses that go to the ram within the frame rail as they were leaking like a sieve. Someone thought it needed some paint at some point, and had repainted all of the frame/engine areas a lighter green, and the hood/fender setup a recoat of the white/crème, which is unfortunate as it was a quick job and half has worn off, but is obviously just cosmetic. It also appears the governor must have went bad as that section was cut open and redone, and that some of the spring setup for the carb may need to be redone.

I have the mower deck for it and the snow blower, which I will be cleaning up, greasing, and getting ready to roll as needed for the upcoming seasons. I also picked up a 18618 tiller and have been researching what I need to attach it, but it seems like it will not be an easy setup and I may need to create the mounting brackets and lift setup myself as I don't think they were meant for each other. I'm willing and able to do that, but if anyone knows anything about matching the two up, whether you've done it or have an idea or pic, it would be greatly appreciated.

Any other advice or information on this tractor is greatly appreciated, I look forward to it!

Thanks!

The 18618 Tiller simply will nit work on your 5020H because the input rotation is backwards of what you need. The correct tiller model for the 5020H is model 50333 or 51333, which can be somewhat difficult to find. If you're adventurous, you may try to adapt a model 18315 or 18322 (XL Series) or a model 19230 (Q Series) tiller. These models all have the correct rotation for the 5020H, but that's really the only thing they have in common. The mounting hardware and driveshaft is completely different on each of these. Again, only the 50333 and 51333 are a direct fit to your tractor.

I have a 5020H myself. It is the only Bolens GT I have....so far. I recently acquired a tiller and snowblower for mine. You have a set of push arms for the snowblower yes?

The attachments interchange with the Duratrac and the Troybilt GTX series.

I have tiller mounting brackets if you need reference for measurements.

I appreciate the information, that sure is a bummer. Sounds like I may be putting this one up for sale this spring, and will need to start looking for the proper rotation. Good to know before I jumped the gun and started creating the mounts! Thanks!

I will keep that in mind, thanks! Yes, I believe I have everything for the snowblower.
