First, can you tell me what exact model this is? He says 124, others say 129 wide frame? Second, pros and cons on this machine? I am usually in the Bolens area, but I have a guy who says it runs and drives, needs some TLC and wants to trade me a Craftsman LT1000 non runner, but complete for this Cub. Even swap. Let me know what you think.

That's a wide frame for sure! The frame narrows right at the back of the engine.

Plus a 124 would be gear drive! I'd say 129.

I agree with Kenny.  The dash and frame looks just like my 149.  129 will have a manual lift and 12 hp Kohler.  If it was a 149 it would have a 14 hp Kohler and hydralic lift.  They are a good tractor.  The rear axle are very stout.  I would check the drvieshaft for wear at the rag joints and the coupler at the engine.  They have a tendency to wear a lot.  IMO I would make the trade.  Parts are easy to get.

I am not sure I understand but if you own the cub keep it. A GT trumps a LT every time.  Don

No, I was going to trade for the Cub. I knew it was a better tractor all around. But now, he has backed out of the deal. I don't think he though it out last night. He was excited to get a cheap tractor to make a racer out of. It's ok, I have too many projects here now. Thanks for all of your info!

Red hood stripe = 128 or 129. It's a defiantly a Hydro so it's a 129.

To bad the deal fell through. The older Cubs are absolute Tanks.
