Hey everyone. The weather was beautiful for the last week, but man did it change quick on Saturday. Friday my wife and I departed to chase some Bolens tractors near Reading pa. It was 70 at home and 77 there. We left Saturday morning, meet up with some great people and I bought 2 Bolens work horse tractors. 1 is a bolens 1900 with deck, blower, 3pt hitch, and some parts of a cab that needs finishing. The other machine is a 1256 with a Briggs 18hp twin swapped into it, a 33" tiller, and chains. Both run well but need batteries. We began are drive home at 71 degrees and when we got home it was 29, snowing and 50mph winds. Woke up this morning to the same weather but I went out to unload the truck bed and my son and I went a snagged a bolens roller. The wind has finally calmed down, but it's still 30 outside so the tractors still are sitting on the trailer. I'm hoping to buy a battery for the 1900. Can someone tell me what size battery goes in it? I also have to figure out what size I'll need for the 1256. With the Briggs swapped in it the battery was moved under the seat and is a motorcycle battery. So I'll have to figure out if I want to continue to run a motorcycle battery, or figure out a cheaper alternative. Both machines need some cosmetics, but for now they will be worked this winter, spring and summer. Can't wait to use them!

Thats sweet! I like 3 for 1's.

Love the roller, I knew Bolens made em, but have never seen one. Looks like it has very little use.

Awesome score;)

Good to hear you were ahead of the afternoon storm.

I drove through rain, snow, and wind. A few downpours, but no thunder and lighting like I was hearing at the hotel. The clouds were getting dark as I drove to get the tractors. I just wanted to load up and strap everything down before the rain hit and it worked out good!

Good score on those two tractors and really nice roller.  1256 are good tractors.  That one looks like it could use some work.  Get highest CCA battery that will fit in the opening.  Get your tape out and measure it up.  I only buy one brand for my keeper tractors and that is Interstate.  The ones I plan to flip I go with cheaper ones, but no NAPA or Wal Mart.  Have fun with you new toys.

Oh cool you got those. That's a nice long drive. I was really tempted to call him about the 1900 but I got more than enough on my plate for now. Did you ask about the 1000 he has with the hydro lift?

I asked about it before I got there and I just couldn't swing the cash for the 1900 and the 1000. I bought those 2 tractors because I need some running work horses right now. I have a ton of restorations lined up to do and no time right now with my wife in school, working, and our 22mo old little guy to watch. So these 2 tractors will need batteries and they are ready to work.

Since joining Facebook tractor sales group have been seeing these same items offered. Don't always connect people their to here, no user names there. Small world the Web makes!

I just emailed him about the 1000. Depends on what he's asking for it if I get it or not. From the video he posted on youtube of it running it's going to need a good bit of work But I'm up for the challenge not sure my wallet is though. We'll see lol.

What's this facebook you speak of? :rolling:  I don't do the social media thing.Nope not doing it.

He's a great guy and his stuff seems to run well but he doesn't seem to mind a tractor with patina. That 1000 does need the hydraulic lift pump repaired I believe. If that was perfect and working I might of found a way to swing the extra money for that tractor. But my son insists on riding with me most the time, so hydro machines will be a big plus. Gear shifting is hard with the little guy on my lap!
