I went to adjust the valves on my Onan 18 horse engine. It is a b48m.

While I was turning the engine, I noticed something weird. Not all of the pushrods are rotating. The intake on one side does, and the exhaust on the other side does, but not the opposite valve pushrods

Why wouldn't they all rotate? It seems to be a very intentional motion. Just confusing

Thanks in advance for the info

If you have heads off you can check rotators when valve is open should turn freely but only in one direction. If you can turn in both directions rotator is bad.

Thanks, both ways on the one.
How hard are the rotators to change and how important are they?

Say it extends life of valve. It looks like it is part of spring retainer on valve. Just need valve compressor and the parts.
