I've been waiting for this Mid Winter Thaw to go back to Winter. Well, I took the garbage out to the street this AM and I saw a Robin. I have never seen one this early. Crazy Weather!

Yep, we they say we will get snow tomorrow afternoon.  Rain first this afternoon, tonight and tomorrow morning then turn to snow.  Just what we don't need is 3-4" of snow on top of soft ground.  Neighbor comes out onto the rock road from his silage and ground hay feed area to go another 2 miles to feed some of his cattle.  With this soft ground that part of the gravel has about 4" of mud on top.  Getting packed down now with the tractor traffic.  Won't that be fun if we get 4" of snow on it.

One of our local weather guessers who has a good sense of humour has called what we are having "wintermission". We had 59* yesterday and 63* is forecasted for today. The cold weather is supposed to go north of us so we will just be getting reservoir filling rains. Our temps are supposed to run 5* to 10* above normal for the next 10 days. I'm almost out of wood again so this has been a break for me. The solar is working well.  Good Luck, Rick.

A few days back, we broke a record high that was set in 1880. They must have had global warming back then, too.

We trimed a tree back today and knocked a nest out. Had an egg in it. Momma Dove was not happy with us!

We got the large flock of Black birds back early this year along with a Chipmunk sighting here. Seems early, hoping Bear doesn't show up to feeders I leave out during winter!

Snow geese are headed north. Last weekend they estimated 80000 at a local lake. And what seemed like 10000 folks out to watch.

I saw several dozen earlier this week.  They must have been migrating.  They ate all the berries on the trees at work and after two days, were gone.
