Welcome to the forum. I moved your post over here to the regular Bolens forum for better exposure. I'm sure posting some pics of your tractor will help these guys help you. Good Luck!

Welcome to GTT.

Not trying to nit-pick here, but the hoods were never cut out for the breather.  ....The cut outs were to provide clearance for the exhaust/muffler.

I'm just trying to help with correct terminology to avoid confusion.

I'm sorry, I thought i did. Will get tomorrow. Sorry it took so long, restoring "it", ( because i don't know anything about it yet lol) to it's former beauty, that tube frame is awsome! I can't find another one like it anywhere. There was one label on the frame ( painted over) that when i got the paint off, i believe said '190 0' when i held the flash light and my head just right.

IF it's a model 190, that would make it a 1000, which would have had a 'round' hood.

Does your tractor have a 'round' hood or a 'square' one?

No, it has squared hood. Tecumseh XL (16 squared) on engine if that helps. Will send pics when i go to shop later. Black Jack Jake are you the same one on Ebay? I ordered some clutch plates (hope they fit) from someone else and i hope they fit. Next time I'll order from you

That would indicate that it's a 1220 which should have a Tec. HH120 engine.
