No, it's not a new child or grandchild, it's a Bolens 1256! I bought a 1256 tractor I've been eyeing since last summer. He finally came down in price, as he needed some $$. It is a 1256 02, ser 106657, Wisconsin engine TRA 12D, spec 336913, 55940028. Runs good, no smoke, starts right up in the dead of cold! I know it is a 71 or 72, as  it has the Husky dog on the front. You experts can tell me. Needs a new seat, missing 2 panels down low and a tail light assy or lens. Also a genuine light switch.

It came with a plow, snow caster , chains, no weights, extra parts and mower deck shafts and 3 decks. I will get the snow blower and 2 more decks once the snow melts some. There will be some more small stuff, once he finds it all. He drove it up to me as it was just down the street. I did do some work on it last summer and said I want it if he ever sells. It will be my work tractor as I have all those Ride A Matics to restore first. Take a look and tell me what you think. You experts can tell me what year it is also. I paid $475, I think it was a fair price for what I got. Everything here in Conn. is on the higher side.

Nice buy,IMO you didn't over pay with all you got with it,down my way that would have been a fair price,I think I have a set of side panels and have the correct taillight for it,the seat will be hardest item to locate, not a lot of nice ones out there anymore, maybe 29 Chev can take care of the seat issue

I don't think you overpaid, and you know the tractor. That alone is worth a lot compared to a pig in a poke off a for sale site IMO. And then all the goodies besides? Win win.

Seems to be quite a few 57 RAM's out there. I've got one, just found a guy here in Conn. who has one. I'm goin to restore some of my RAM's before I tackle this beast!  Still have to find a 59 and a 62 to complete my collection of RAM's.

You got a good buy.  I paid $400 for a 1256 a year ago with a self power 30" tiller mounted to the sleeve hitch.  You did a lot better than that.

Nice GT. Make a list of the parts that you need and take it with you to the shows and swap meets this year. The first one will be in April. Plainfield will be over an hour for you but Zagray should be about a half hour. Good Luck, Rick

I always hit Zagrays shows. Got soaked at the spring one last year. I don't mind traveling to go to a nice show. Thanks everyone for your comments!
