I was introduced to Bantam tractors a long time ago, 1980 or so. I've owned 6 or 7, I still own 2 1/2 of them. At that time I did not have any literature on them. We garden tractor collectors called them 3 horse (with the straight up cast Iron fenders), 5 horse (with the sheet metal fenders over the tires), and 8 horse (with 6 x 12, 5 lug rear tires). I later learned, from Joe who worked at the factory building them, that the factory designation was Standard and Deluxe. Standard came in 3 hp and 5 hp. Deluxe came in 5 hp and 8 hp. In fact my larger Bantam tractor, that I thought was and called it an 8 hp, was in fact a 5 hp Deluxe. I am not used to the designations I see on this forum as 3000 and 5000. I did see them called that way on a piece of literature I saw on this forum. Was that after John Ramp and Skirvin Industries bought them from Poynter? I am pretty rusty on this, I haven't looked at my literature in a while. I guess I'm old school.
