I recently bought an older Gilson (told me it was 1975) with snow blade, tiller, and 42 inch deck. We got it running and the hydraulics working, but I cannot get the engine power drive (or whatever you would call it, where you hook the belts for the mower, pto, etc in front) to turn. It turns freely by hand but I cant get it to turn on its own in operation. Any advice or what to do?

Manual PTO I suppose?

Really simple setup on those.1 short belt goes from the crank pulley to a double groove PTO pulley. When you engage the PTO it tensions up the small belt.If the tension adjustable spring is shot the idler will over center to far and pin the belt against the pto pulley.

Can you take a couple pics of the front of the engine and post them here? 1 with PTO disengaged and 1 with PTO engaged.

Manual for your tractor here http://gardentractor...ed-parts-lists/ Page 10 for PTO Parts diagram.

Short video of how to post pics and attachments.
