Most of the paint codes I have come up with are from the 50's and 60's car color books my local napa has.

Yikes! that stinks! Decals aren't something you want to rush during install either! Hope you can get it done on time! I'd offer a hand, but I'm not the best with decals myself. Good luck!

Figured I'd conclude this thread, the 600 is fully complete!

Want to say thanks to member classicbolens for helping make the decals happen, he was able to clean up and create a template from the old photos I had and make them easier to reproduce at the decal shop.

Awesome job, Brian!  That 600 came out looking better than brand new!

So, I'm surprised that no one else has asked this yet, but where did you get the tires for this tractor?  They look brand new, so I am assuming that you replaced them, unless you just cleaned up the old tires really good and soaked them in tire shine?  If they are new though, where did you manage to find tires that look identical to the original ones?  When I have looked for new tires for some of my Bolens tractors, I can NEVER seem to find tires that are an identical match for the ones that were on the tractor originally...  I can usually get something that is close and at least the actual same dimensions of the old tires, but the tread pattern and just overall look of the tires is never quite right...

Thanks again and keep up the amazing work!  You make me want to get some more work done on some of my Bolens projects...

Tires are original good years, the front are original and the rear my uncle had the set stored in his garage.

Powerwashing and Armorall extreme tire shine does wonders for these old tires.

I hope someone starts reproducing this tread design , because these tractors just dont look the same without their original tread pattern.

Those rear tires are the exact same tread as the goodyears on my 1968 mf12. Still the original, good tread and little or no side wall cracks. Heck I probably still have some of the 1968 air in them, never had a leak! Only added a few pounds of air once in a while. I don't think they make quality GT tires like they used to.

Ah, interesting to know.  Thanks Brian!  I agree with you though that these tractors just don't look right without the original tread pattern on the tires.  The newer Turf-Saver tires they have now look weird to me with all of those little "S" treads on them.  I wish I could find new tires with the original "arrow" style pattern on them like what is on your 600 now.

The front tires are also notoriously hard to find an exact match for.  The closest I can find look more like wheelbarrow tires.  I'm trying to find a set of front tires for my 850 right now as the fronts are totally shot.  I believe both have tubes in them now, which is the only reason they are even holding air at all.  One is totally dry rotted and cracked badly and the other one is completely trashed now and has cuts and gouges taken out of the sidewalls.  Even with the tube in it, it won't hold air at all anymore.  :(
