Strange year. January 29th and I mowed my yard. I also mowed between Christmas and New Years. I'm not sure if this sets a record for the latest in the season that I've ever mowed or the earliest in the new season that I've mowed. Either way, I think I'm done doing any winterizing to my main mower.

I'm done winterizing my mower

I plugged, overseeded heavy with rye and fescue. Then laid the fertilizer, lime and winterizer to it. The rye is jumping out of the ground. I also have daffodils about three inches high. That's at least four weeks early, if not six, for down here.

30+ years ago I did my Army Reserve Duty in NC at the end of April and into May each year. I would stop and pick a bunch(4 to 8 qts)of fresh strawberries on the way to the airport. That was atleast 6 weeks earlier than we can pick in CT.
