you will probably have to go to the John Deere website and try to purchase one. We cannot upload manuals to the site due to

copyright laws enacted by JD.

You might want to specify what model you need it for.

In my experience the only thing the 400 shares with the 420 & 430 is the "4" at the beginning. Actually my 322 SM covers the 430 so I guess the 420 is on its own.

GOOGLE is your friend,
john deere 400 tractor manual

OR

typing this "http://manuals.deere.com/" into your browser address bar gets you to a search page at jd:

then from here, in the model nuber window, just type "400" and click search...

This will get you EVERYTHING with a "400" in the model number, Technical Publication Search

you can then FILTER the results by region, type of equipment,

not sure what happened with the links, verified they worked, then checked them again after I posted them,

now, ???, whole 'nother result,

BUT, they do work if using Chrome, oh well, sorry 'bout that for those of you using IE...

typed the above up to post, just checked with IE and they're working...

don't know what is going on here...

guess I'll just let the site's IT dept. figure it out...
