The 112L was made only one year, 1985. It has a 12.5 hp Kawasaki engine on it. It's basically a 111 with a Kawasaki engine instead of a Briggs. That same engine used in the 112L was in the 160 and 165 lawn tractors. You could also repower using a Briggs single cylinder engine. I have the 1985 brochure that has the 112L in it upload. 1985 LT & RER brochure - Manuals - Garden Tractor Talk - Forums

You probably could use the 160/165 service manual for the engine: JD Tech 130/160/165/170/175/180/185 - Manuals - Garden Tractor Talk - Forums

You have to know the sizes of the crank. If the crank from the Briggs is the same as the existing engine, then it should work. Also check the mounting hole locations. Wiring may have to be modified a bit.

The fuel pump from the kawi will work. You need the breather/ valve cover combo for the briggs to get the vacuum to run the pump and you will be golden.
