Is a patio yellow seat a different color than a regular yellow seat?

Is a patio yellow seat a different color than a regular yellow seat?

Quoted from greenmagazine.com:

The second question I get is, “How can I tell a yellow Patio seat from a regular yellow seat?” The answer to that one is easy. The Patio line seats had a very distinctive texture on the seat base or back side of the seat. Some serious Patio collectors claim that the April Yellow seats were much lighter yellow, but I haven’t seen them together to really compare.

The last good condition patio seat I saw sell on EBay was red and sold for nearly $2,000.

I think the yellow ones are more sought after is because there really is less of them around. Some were probably used as replacement seats due to being nearly indistinguishable from a normal seat to the untrained eye.

Wow! I have a JD 110 patio (orange & white)tractor that was painted green & yellow by the dealer before my Dad bought it, it had the original seat on it when he bought it. Seat was more of a orange than yellow...he painted it yellow with a rattle can of vinyl paint . I do not remember the seat back having a texture to it. $2600.00 for a JD seat is crazy talk.

I might convince the wife to pay that for the seat but she would not be willing to pay the $35 shipping. :)

I wouldn't pony up that amount of cash for a pristine Patio tractor.

I don't have that much in my John Deere 420 with a 3 point, deck, and blade. That's nuts.

What do you do with it? Sit it on a shelf? Once you mount it on a tractor, it's not NOS anymore. Then what?
