I just got this tractor.  It has the K3D engine.  The fuel system was so contaminated and sludged up the electric fuel pump self destructed.  Toro wants $500.00 for the pump.

There must be a good aftermarket pump for less money.  Any recommendations would be much appreciated.

I have a more detailed post in the Conversion Forum.

Thanks guys.  Miller_time, does that pump shut off when it reaches a set pressure?  I do not think there is a re-circulation back to the fuel tank.

Chieffan.  Yes that is what I am looking for.

Bolens 1000, it is a Mitsubishi K3D, approx. 25 Hp fuel injected diesel.

There should be a return line. Mine (322D) is at the end of the run to the injectors. Do you have a manual for it?

KennyP, just downloading the manuals this evening.  I took the injectors and piping out to clean them, no obvious recirc on the injector pump or piping to the injectors.

Mine has a tee on the back injector and the return line goes back to tank from there!  It's put up for winter or I'd get a pic for you!

No it doesn't shut off but i would be surprised if there is no fuel return somewhere. Even if not it only makes like 5 psi running full time should still be ok

I have a long weekend so I hope to make some progress on this beast.  I was told that it was taken out of service 3 years ago because of a "fuel problem".

Great forum, I have a 1976 Jacobsen GT 12 that I bought in 1980 that I still use to this day.

WrenchinOnit, great link.  I have a 1976 Jacobsen GT-12 with the Kohler engine.  Looks like Kirk can source great parts if I need them.

So now its time to get wrenching on the Groundsmaster.
