Here's scans off Mike Hamper's cards he sends to customers. Might be sideways, but best I can do, sorry!

carl,
That's exactly what I'm gathering myself so far, as to its value anyway. Other concerns I had was if the 10 HP Kohler was even the "correct" size motor for such a large tractor. I thought not but so far haven't been able to determine that one way or the other deffinatively. I was thinking about getting this tractor to pull around my 64" homemade lawn roller that weights 1600lbs full tho, because I think that may be a bit too much on the hydrostatic ht20. and could also be an overall better "puller" when it comes to the heavier stuff I need to move on occasion. I was hoping someone would offer their opinions on what its main intended purpose was for and how well they stood up to things. Still kicking it around tho and again, appreciate ALL advice or experiences with this model tractor.

My  understanding is that the original engine was a 14hp B&S.

Thank you very much, couldn't seem to verify that anywhere.

I did a little magic on GL's pic above. It states right on there it is a 14 HP.

It's true Spdx liked Briggs, but if you go back and look at Marty's link with all the pictures, that is a Kohler in ones you can see shroud on. BUT, as noted, also looks like one in the X-32 has it turned with shafts forward and back, opposite of way in others. As always, nothing is ever the same on Spdx models, changes with the mood or supplies, heh!

ON the Speedex "S" modles the model number indicates the cubic inch displacement of its engine. S32 =32 cu in =14hp, S19 =19 cu in = 8 hp. The model number of the B&S engines always started with the displacement. Floyd.

I'd like to chime in on this topic because I also came across what I believe to be a S32 speedex today. Included are pictures and I'll say that the 10hp Kohler in it was said to be the original motor and runs but a little rough and blows some smoke but also comes with a different 10hp Kohler that has been freshly rebuilt. It does run and drive but the tires are all dry and checked but hold air OK. Only other thing I can say at this point is i noticed one side brake is set up and the lift lever is also set up, and comes with no implementation. I know nothing about these tractors but I was offered it for what seems to me to be a fair price (which I'll reveal later). I'm just hoping someone could give me a ballpark value of this one as well, so I can either go after it or pass it by. TY and hope to get some quick feed back on this. Would also like to know if I've identified the model correctly if anyone can determine that just by these pictures. It was a crowded space and very hard to get around it for picture taking.

Did you end up buying the Speedex If not was was the guy asking for it.

he wanted $475 for tractor and the other motor but when I got back in touch with him about it he told me his son told him to sell it for more and not to let it go that cheap, he was to get back to me when he thought it over and I have since left messages for him to call me back but no response in over a week now. not sure what happened or if he decided against selling it all anymore.

There is an S32 for sale with loader on Buffalo CL. He is asking BO but in an earlier ad was asking $1500 to $2000, I can't remember exactly. In the other ad he said it ran but wouldn't move witch could mean the rear axel is broken. I know of one other S32 that had a broken axel.
