Still looks like a fairly complete unit - may be missing some cooling tin work / shields from around the engine as I believe there should be one where the oil filter is located on the left if it is the same as a HT-23.  Depending on the price and what else you find wrong it might be one you want to get - I will warn you though that Large Frames can be just as addictive as Tube Frames.

Addictive is the word! The guy got it from a friend nearby who bought a Kubota tractor recently so I will be asking a number of questions and hope we can agree on a price. I have resisted buying a new Bolens so far this year..... :-)

That is the correct seat Andrew. The foam may be wrong but the Kubota decal is :D

This is like new compared to some of the rubbish we find in the UK

I would spend some time tidying it up, service etc, new decals on hood etc

I cant wait to get my hands on it :poke:   :dancingbanana:

I would say it's an early 20,it had the early hood latch at one time
,the seat mount is correct, but your right, the wrong seat, good start to what could be a nice tractor,if the price is right and your happy,go for it

The top tin work is gone from what I see that is were the serial number would be unless he has it.   Does it have a plastic or metal tank?

1973 2086-01 had a metal tank.

1974 2087-02 had a plastic tank.

Congratulations Andrew, that looks Ike a brilliant find, I hope you can strike a deal. I would definitely say it's an early model HT20 due to the steel fuel tank, bonnet latches and steering wheel. Not sure if the seat is original but the framework underneath it definitely is. Can't quite tell by the photo but looks like the panel on top of the engine with id tag on is missing. Shame if it is, but you never know he may still have it

Hopefully he will have some details and can verify if it's metal or plastic.

Thanks Dave. Been looking out for one but rare as hen's teeth as we know. I have asked the guy for photos of the engine.

Hopefully a deal can be had.

Everything I can see in the pictures so far points to an early serial # 2087-02 HT20.

There something in paper work that states the serial number that bolens changed to the plastic take in the 2087-02 I just cant find it right now.  Do you have a copy?
