With out pics Im wondering if you can raise fender the 1/2" you require, is that possible?

I think so. What I need to do, is shift the tire/rim/hub assembly 1/2" to the outside of the axle.

It is rubbing on the inside, against the sheet metal protecting the fuel tank. I'll get pictures tomorrow.

Here are the promised pics post-78477-0-46077200-1483208509.jpg

Second pic is me pointing to the problem area, that is between the wheel/chains and the fuel tank.

Probably should have said, this is on a roper rt 16 post-78477-0-68474700-1483208544.jpg

As per usual... can one of the kind moderators flip the picture around?

That there for a reason.
I would move the hub carefully.

Ok, I'll do that after supper, if I'm sneaky enough getting outside. Grandparents are coming over for dinner.

KennyP, thanks for repositioning those pics!

I had the same problem when I put a set of calcium loaded 23x9.50 12 Cub Cadet rims and tires with chains on my old ratty SS16. Back spacing is roughly 1" deeper on the Cub rims.

Sears SS16 have press molded fenders so there is a tiny bit more room than your ropers fabricated fenders have, but the Cub rims would not clear the tank bulge with chains on.I had a Craftsman GT5000 parts machine with some decent tires on so I used the rims and tires off of that.

Is this on this 16hp Roper built Moto Mower you was looking at getting back in October?

Those do look like Cub Cadet rims.

That's her.

I made good progress. I slid the hub 1/2" out from where it was. Gonna go do some "testing" tomorrow, in the snow.
