I have seen that one before. Its a proverbial basket case. Tore down to restore and it is all in milk crates. He must have forgot how to put it back together, because it has been at least 6 months since I first saw it.

I see this with people all the time "I paid 800 for it, all the pieces are still there, i didn't loose any, and I swear it ran, so its still worth what I paid for it, right."  Tractors, cars, motorcycles, clocks, you name it, no surer way to destroy the value of something than an abandoned attempt at restoration.

The job turns out to be bigger than they thought, they don't know how to/ have the skill to finish it, lost interest, but are unable or unwilling to see that anything that they did might have had an effect on the value of the item. The number of overpriced partially assembled cars on Craigslist that "just need a few finishing touches on a restoration" is mind blowing.
